While we attempt to respond promptly to all calls, texts, emails, and social media inquiries, our primary focus during operational hours is on serving our in-person customers. Presented below are some frequently asked questions. Though it may appear that we uphold numerous regulations, rest assured that these guidelines contribute to a more positive experience for all.
Can I bring my kids?
Our quarry has a depth of 55+ feet with minimal shallow spots and no lifeguards on duty. To ensure safety, all visitors must be 18 years old or older. Please note that children are not permitted on the premises, even when accompanied by parents.
Can I bring my dog?
Our quarry is not suitable for pets due to the hot and sharp rocks, which can be harmful to their feet. Emotional support dogs are not permitted on the premises, but trained Service Dogs are welcome to accompany visitors. While we appreciate the presence of dogs, it is important to prioritize their safety and well-being in our environment.
Can we bring...food, coolers, canopies, chairs, grills, umbrellas?
When bringing items into the park, please note that food, canopies, chairs, and umbrellas are permitted. However, coolers must be of a personal-sized 9-quart capacity or smaller, larger coolers will not be allowed entry. Please refrain from bringing charcoal grills on site. Remember that The Snack Shack is available on the premises for your convenience. Please be aware that outside alcohol or drugs are strictly prohibited on the premises. Thank you for your cooperation.
Do you allow kayaks/paddle boards?
Yes, we kindly request that you keep a life jacket on board during your visit. At our Surf Shack, you can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and pedal boats.
Are you handicapped accessible?
We offer walk-in beaches for convenient water access, catering to individuals who prefer not to use ladders. Our water areas are predominantly deep, with minimal shallow sections. Should any assistance be required, we are committed to providing support to the best of our ability. It is important to note that we do not have lifeguards stationed on the premises.
Do you allow nudity/nude swimming?
As an adult-only park, it is important to note that swim clothing is required for all guests.
What is the water temperature?
The quarry spans across 7 acres of water, with depths mostly exceeding 40 feet. Due to the sun's influence, the surface temperature will be higher than that at a depth of 5 feet. Furthermore, the water near the edge of the quarry tends to be warmer than the water in the middle of the lake. Typically, the water temperature begins to rise by the end of May or the beginning of June, gradually cooling off as October approaches.
Can we leave and come back the same day?
Our park operates on a no re-entry policy. Should you require assistance or have forgotten any items, please visit our office or Snack Shack for assistance.
How much is the paddleboard/ pedal boat rental?
Renting a paddleboard or kayak for one person costs $25 for a two-hour session, while pedal boats, accommodating two people per boat, are available for $40 for the same time period. These watercraft rentals can be found at The Surf Shack.
Can we free swim?
It is mandatory for all individuals to carry a flotation device when in the water due to its depth and limited areas for footing. The Surf Shack offers the option to rent or purchase floats and life jackets. Even the most skilled swimmers can experience cramps or unexpected emergencies, which underscores the importance of having a safety device readily available. As a safety precaution and in the absence of on-site lifeguards, we urge all guests to prioritize their safety by adhering to this rule.
Do you have an air pump to use for floats?
Yes, we have a complementary air compressor located at our Surf Shack
Do you have fish?
Yes, we have fish. You may feed them, but we do not allow fishing. We sell fish food in our Surf Shack. Fish eat you here! :~)
Do I have to buy my tickets online?

By making an online reservation for $9.99, individuals can secure their ticket and pay the remainder of the admission fee when they arrive at the venue. It is important to complete the necessary online waiver prior to arriving at the check-in counter. To avoid the risk of certain days being fully booked, we advise booking your tickets online in advance.

Is marijuana allowed?
At our facility, we have strict policies in place regarding prohibited substances such as Kratom and marijuana. For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, we kindly ask that you refrain from smoking these substances prior to arrival. It is important to note that anyone under the influence of such substances will be denied entry and will not be eligible for a refund. By signing our waiver, you are confirming your sobriety and compliance with our regulations. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in maintaining a safe environment for all visitors.

I have a reservation, but it’s raining.
It is important to note that weather conditions are subject to change unpredictably. In the event that unfavorable weather conditions (more than rain and thunderstorms) are present, FRP reserves the right to close the park for the safety and well-being of visitors. It is worth mentioning that closures are based on actual conditions rather than solely on forecasted probabilities of precipitation. Please note, that such closures have not been necessary in the past. In the unlikely event of a closure, we are committed to providing compensation to our valued visitors. It is important to emphasize that the park does not close due to rain or thunderstorms; guests are encouraged to embrace the rain and enjoy a day of relaxation.
I bought a reservation ticket, but I have to work.
